Hilger and Watts Gravity Meter model SG450, serial number 229489. Made in England in 1968. Object comprises cylindrical meter case in khaki green paint. Instrumentation of top comprises dials in glass dones and electrical connections and meter, which is covered by a raised green metal cap. Base has 3 levelling feet. Top has carrying handle. Used by University of Durham Earth Sciences Department in work at Rookhope
